Mistake #1 - Not Hitting Send We recommend sending out a good email newsletter at least once a month or more frequently if you have great content to share. Not sending or not sending consistently is the biggest mistake we see.
Mistake #2 - Content Versus Sales As a general rule we recommend 80% really great content and 20% sales. Share your wealth of knowledge with customers and prospects. Educated customers make better customers.
Mistake #3 - HTLM Versus Text Only Emails An easy to read HTLM email gets 7 times more response rate than a regular text only email. People tend to scan emails so having a few pictures and graphics helps draw them in and makes the email easier to read.
Mistake #4 - Boring Subject Lines Why should they open your email? - Be more creative than"Our Monthly Newsletter". Our subject line worked!
Mistake #5 - Too Much Info We recommend 2 or 3 messages points with links to read more. That way you can also track what your audience is really interested in for future newsletters.
