Janet's Top 6 Tips for Attending Bridal Shows
I wanted to share a few tips that I have learned over the years attending the Bridal Shows and Bridal Bazaars. We truly hope that your wedding planning is a wonderful time for you, and hopefully these extra tips will simplify your day at your next Bridal Show!
1) Bring Address Labels with Email Addresses
This is something that a lot of brides don't think about until they arrive at the Bridal Show, and really wish they didn't have to write their contact information over and over again! It requires a little prep beforehand, but makes your time at the show much more enjoyable!
2) Bring sturdy (recyclable) bags
Besides writing your name over and over again, you will be receiving a lot of FREE goodies from the vendors. Yes, some vendors pass out bags, but you will feel more prepared from the start by supplying yourself with your own bag. You will also be happier to have something more durable (it's not very fun to chase around all your loose items, or ever worse, to lose them entirely!).
3) Bring a red (or any color) marker
Having a simple way to distinguish which vendors you really like, will be helpful when you get home and you are trying to remember who you met! It can be an overwhelming process, so don't be shy when it comes to organization and rating the vendors!
4) Camera (or your cell phone)
There will be plenty of opportunities to see displays and examples of cakes, decorations, wedding fashion, and much more. If you feel inspired or see something you like, make sure you take plenty of photos for your personal inspiration board!
5) Organized folder with outlined "needs" list
Create a folder that you can neatly place all of the material you will receive from the vendors. This will be extremely helpful when you are sorting through all of the papers at the end of the day. Go the extra mile and create a list of all of your "needs" for the wedding, that way you can easily find them later on, and you won't forget anything! I highly recommend sorting through your papers at the end of the day and creating "piles" for the vendors your really like. If you find yourself with any vendor information that you won't be using, don't be shy, share their information with your friends! You never know who might be in need of their services! :)
6) HANDY WIPES (or hand sanitizer)
You will be shaking a lot of hands, and tasting a lot of finger food samples, so make sure you have a way to keep your hands clean (and germ free!).
