Turns out we have over 20 flowers that bloom year round in San Diego! This is great news for brides looking for floral guidance. If you know what is in season during the month you are getting married, you are more likely to dream up a bouquet that is feasible & pocket-friendly (would you really want to foot the bill for a floral airline ticket? Probably not too budget friendly).

A WORD OF ADVICE: Just because these flowers are available year ’round doesn’t mean that you have the range of color choices that you’ll have when each is in season. Yes, you can pretty much get dahlias all year now, but, if you have your heart set on Cafe au Lait dahlias, you’re going to have to have a summer or fall wedding! Also, if having a small carbon footprint is important to you, stick with flowers that are locally blooming for your wedding date. Flowers are flown in from all over the world to keep up with our seasonal denial- and that’s a burden on the environment not to mention, the flowers are so much more costly.
Lastly, embrace seasonality. Right now, anemones, ranunculus, and lilac are all at the top of their games; it’s a shame when these gorgeous blooms get overlooked for a spring wedding. Whenever you use flowers in their peak moments, you’re sure to have something special (and a grateful floral designer, too!).
