The last thing you want to worry about on your wedding day is a make-up meltdown! There are a few key products you will want to be sure you have. One that a lot of brides forget about is a gel liner, versus wax based eyeliner. The wax will melt and could run when the tears of joy start flowing! Gel liners stick in place until removed with an oil-free eye makeup remover. In the eye area a good no brainer is waterproof mascara. Although waterproof is totally necessary, did you know you can layer mascaras? So, you may want to have more volume and length and you won’t get that with waterproof mascara. I recommend using a couple coats of volumizing mascara and then do one final coat with the waterproof to hold those lashes in place and keep from smudging or smearing.
When it comes to your foundation, you do want to apply a little more than normal because your photographer will be using additional lighting and it can wash you out. Use a foundation primer that will act as an invisible “buffer” that not only fills in imperfections, but also acts like a “magnet” to give your foundation real staying power. Simply apply it after your moisturizer, and you will see the primer glides on effortlessly and also dries quickly. This will diffuse light which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores too! Plus, primer also contains an ingredient that absorbs excess oil as an added bonus.
And lastly, finishing spray! If you want to look as beautiful as you did when you walked down the aisle at your reception, you must use a makeup finishing spray. What this does is holds your makeup beautifully in place the whole day! Whether your skin is oily or dry your nerves will get you glowing and you want that beautiful face to stay looking that way all day!
